Ukraine: Corn Production Map

This is the Ukraine corn production according to USDAs foreign ag service.

You’ll notice all the area circled shows where the higher percentage of where corn is produced is mostly in the northern part of Ukraine and not much in the southern part.

You can see right around where there is heavy fighting like Kyivska produces 7%, Zhytomyrska with 5%, to the southeast in Poltavska with 13% for a visual.

Ukraine: Wheat Production Map

Compared to the corn, wheat is mostly further south in Ukraine and also in the southeast.

Ukraine: Sunflower Seed Production Map

Sunflower seed oil exports in Ukraine make up about 47% of the worlds sunflower seed oil exports.

A lot of that is in the east and there has been a lot of heavy fighting there.

March Corn Chart

Corn didn’t set a new high for this move, but we did have a new high close for this move. This would have been the highest move we’ve had on the July 2022 corn contract.

A few areas where we have support are the 10-day moving average in green at 7.12 just below where the lowest market was for today and then right below that is an uptrend line at 7.05 area.

Todays close was a good close to see in the corn market.

March Soybean Chart

Even though beans didn’t have a new high today we did have a new high close.

As we come down to look at support, we have support at the 10-day moving average at 16.42 and right below that we have the 20-day moving average at 16.20.

March KC Wheat Chart

Wheat has had a very volatile day and week. We’ve seen the market trade from 12.59 with support at 10.27. Which is where we kind of had a double bottom.

If we were to break that level, that opens the door to go down to the 20-day moving average at 9.76.

Overall, our belief is that we think the KC Wheat should be able to find some support.
