30-Day Observed Precipitation

This map shows the 30-day observed precipitation with very little to no rain in the southwestern plains as drought continues.

We see heavy precipitation in the northern plains, primarily snow.

Then the heavy rains that have fallen from the Ohio valley down into the delta where 5-8 inches of rain and isolated 8-10 inches plus has fallen and may need to dry out.

We have over twice the normal amount of rain in many areas across the Ohio valley and down into the delta.

As well as 2-3 times normal in much of North Dakota and adjacent areas of Minnesota and South Dakota.

7-Day Precipitation Forecast

The forecast shows more heavy rain in the delta and Ohio valley which is not needed.

More precipitation in the northern plains which could fall as snow in many locations which is not needed.

No precipitation forecast in the southwestern plains.

This map shows the snow which has been pushed further north.

But we still have heavy snow in portions of the northern plains crop region in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

Corn prices continue to be in an uptrend off the lows posted 3 weeks ago at 6.06.

Corn prices have rallied towards overhead resistance at 6.48.

Prices today are now pausing at this level of overhead resistance as we now wait to see what USDA says regarding acres and stocks tomorrow.

Soybean prices also trending higher off last Fridays low at 14.05.

The market is now pausing, waiting to see what USDA will say tomorrow.

May KC Wheat Chart

Wheat prices have had a $1.24 rally off the lows from 3-weeks ago at 7.72.

Prices did pull back off yesterday’s high with 9.09, the next objective if we get friendly news.
